    History has proven that the distribution model of using independent dealers to market a product produces the most benefit for the practice. Local dealers will more easily adapt to the needs of a particular area; and the small-business culture of most dealers is a more comfortable fit for the typical 1-5 doctor practice.

  • Smooth Migration.
    Since almost every practice already has a PMS, converting your data is one of the most important considerations. Micro-Office has developed one of the most comprehensive conversions for MicroMD®. For example, we have performed hundreds of "open-item" conversions for practices moving to MicroMD® from The Medical Manager, maintaining all details of every charges.
  • Customizability.
    This is, in our opinion, its most important feature, and it is unique in this regard in the Windows market. A PMS package have many wonderful features, but if it is not customizable, then you can be left in a bind should you need a feature in the future. Many PMS systems offer basic ODBC compliance, but customizability requires far more than that. On the other hand, some packages claim to be customizable by offering their source code. This is dangerous, since customizing source code is complex and risky, and makes updating your software with new versions virtually impossible. MicroMD® does not require source code changes for customizing. In a nutshell, you need to be able to: a) monitor the database efficiently for changes; 2) add context-sensitive features as menu items and icons/buttons; 3) invoke special functions automatically at keys points.
